State Fair 2015

One tradition Braxton and I like to do is head out to the NC state fair. This year we rode less rides, but loved getting to see the K9 in flight, a goat show, and all of the photography/food contests. Again, it is possible to eat healthy and gluten free at the state fair (Thanks Neomonde and Bluebird Cupcakes!).
Here's to a chilly day at the fair, and an even more exhausting week at the state fair working the Turkey Shoot booth with the Raleigh Jaycees.

Alexii and Alex's Big Fat Greek Wedding

This past weekend we were honored to attend the wedding of one of my dear college friends, Alexii, to her now husband, Alex. Yes, their names are pretty much the same. This would be the first Greek wedding we have ever been to, and let's just say it was a blast. The ceremony was beautiful. Though I only understood about 20% of what was going on (I don't speak Greek), the ceremony was meaningful, traditional, and special in every way. From the roses each woman was given upon their arrival to the couple's first kiss to the Greek band and dancing at the reception, we definitely got to celebrate the joining of two people on their lifelong journey as husband and wife.
Congrats Alexii and Alex!

This church was beautiful. What a great place to celebrate the occasion!

The first dance!

Apparently it is very common for there to be belly dancers at Greek weddings. Well, this lovely lady almost lost her top. Memorable, that's for sure!

Time to Oh Pat the bride! KKG <3

Friends since 2005. :)

My handsome date.

This is very normal...Greek music...dollar bills making it rain..and rhythmic clapping. I don't know how long this went on for, but I would say at least 50% of the reception.

Cheers Mrs. Lazaridis! I am so lucky to have you as a friend!

Busch Gardens with the Jaycees

Everyone loves fall! I have always loved Halloween. The month of October means 3 things for me: Candy Corn, State Fair, and Halloween. All of these things are coming up in the next four weeks, and this weekend we kicked it off right - at Howl-O-Scream Busch Gardens. I started getting involved with the Raleigh Jaycees August 2014 and it has been a great way to get involved in the community. This summer I had the idea of taking a group to Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream Event and the chapter was able to help me host it. Although there was a major rainstorm on Friday - Saturday was overcast with it only raining a handful of times. We had virtually no wait times for roller coasters and haunted houses. I only wish I had more time for shows and food. Here's to the start of October and the Halloween season!
